Honda dealer called. Our new 2013 CR-V EX-L AWD arrived today. I stopped to test drive. Another perfect one. They are putting a few goodies on the new car that we want (rear integrated spoiler, bike rack, roof rails). With this one, we got leather instead of cloth and the leather is keyed to the interior colors. The leather is really nice -- though we were perfectly happy with the cloth on our 2012 EX, the leather is going to be nicer with our new dog, Sadie. She'll be happy and so will we.

I found a very good body shop who will remove our Blue Ox baseplate and Air Force One on Monday then reinstall on our new CR-V later next week.

Yes, another happy CR-V owner!

Does the CR-V have any towing capabilities? I have a 1700# boat I would like to drag to the river a couple times during the winter. I could ask the dealers, but trust you CR-V owners more.

My 2011 and the new 2013 are rated to pull 1500#'s. can you do without the boat motor? ;-)

Not on a jet sled.

2013 Owner's Manual says tow capacity is 1,500 pounds, John.

Love the car!!!

Hey guys... Do you have any comment on the cabin noise in the new cr-vs? That has become such a pet peeve of mine. I haven't driven the crv yet, but all prospects are being evaluated with a decibel meter

Crv , equinox noise level

Over last 2 weeks I test drove a used crv and a new crv. 2013 is defiantly quieter than 2011. I did not quantity it, but noticeable difference.

That said, I just bought a 2013 equinox. It was even quieter than crv.

I can't say that I could tell the difference between a 2011 vs a 2013 CRV but they redesigned the rear area in 2012 so that it is flat for our GSDs.

Can't say that I know a darn thing about cabin noise comparisons since I have XM Radio that is normally turned up a bit and/or selective hearing when Sandee is on board.

Ours (2012) is extremely well insulated on the firewall and floor. I don't find it any nosier than my Sienna but the stock Continental all season tires are noisy and will be replaced as soon as they wear down.

Thanks Jim, that's good to know. It's been a long time since I bought a new car..can you upgrade tires at the dealership before delivery?

Just my general observation on noise levels: SUV, Minivan, and Station Wagon designs with rear sections open are noisier than sedans with enclosed trunks. After owning a 1998 CRV, my 2006 feels reasonably powerful. That said, I am considering a trade up to the new Acura RDX with a V-6.

I think you are right blue pill. I have a caliber, it is definitely not a great car but I can't really complain about anything but how noisy the darn thing is. Mechanically great, but i literally avoid driving it more than about 1.5 hrs it just drives me nuts.
