2013 ford edge towing

Upon initial hook up you have to put tranny from r-n-d-back to N. If I stay hooked up over night with brake buddy in position. Do I have to do the R-N-D thing in the morning?

Yes, this circulates lubrication to the clutches and bearings. This lubrication is needed before each days towing.

you might want to read other posts on towing edge. If I remember right there is some weird stuff you have to do. I believe you have to drain the fluid down to the low mark on the dipstick. I do not own one but had thought about buying one and was reading posts on towing them.

Hi--I have a 2012 edge that i pull and have no problem pulling it but every 4 hours and in the morn. run it and put the automatic through each gear ---- BUT now here is another problem that you will have to get ford to do --when you put the key on to the left to have the edge in neutral to pull behind your rv. the lights on the dash stay on like shift to park and the indicator lights and will not go off killing your battery so ford has to run a wire ( from the yellow wire on the gear shift to a push button usually mounted under the hood to turn the dash lights out ) and once you open the drivers door the lights come on --- if you want more info let me no---terry

I'd like more info too. I tow a 2012 Fusion and the same lights stay on and kill my battery. The last time I towed it I disconnected the battery.

Hi --- when i bought my 2012 edge i put the key on accer. and left the vechile in neutral and no way would the indicator and shift to part lights go out so i went on google and read what others had done and they went to there ford dealer in the usa and the taped in to the yellow wire on the automatic gear shift and run the wire under the hood with a push button to turn the lights of when pulling your vechile and the way i read it ford in the usa never charged them but i live in canada and got charged $ 200.00 to have this done .--Once you open the drivers door the lights come on ---so every 4 hours or 200 miles when your running your tow vechile through park to low you have to open the hood with the doors shut and push the button in to turn the lights off and it works ---terry

Ford Edge ......

We just converted from a CRV to a 2014 Edge. Due to the CRV being totaled in an rear end attack. We have been out several times without any problems. The last two times when we return home, disconnect an back the Edge into its parking space in the garage. A short time later I find a small puddle of oil under the right front drivers side. I can find no indication of a leak or of the oil being down. Took it to Ford an they said they have NO report of any problems with the Edge or an oil leakage. This only happens when we back into the parking spot when returning home. Also we do not back the Edge after towing at the camp ground.
Any input would be greatly appreciated.
