2014_2016 Dodge Ram 4 down

Is anyone here towing a newer Ram. Thinking of a Laramie. Crew cab 4x4 with the Hemi and an 8 speed. I know it is heavier than my Silverado but she seems to be a well made gorgeous pu. I looked at the blue oxbase plate and installs much like my Silverado. I am assuming that all the 4x4 Rams are towable. Comments?
Thanks

Don't have any experience with towing. But I promise that you will LOVE that truck. I have a 2016 Laramie 4x4

Yes and a easy set up I tow a 2017 Ram Big Horn but i used the Roadmaster brackets with a 10,000 blue ox tow bar used a double LED strip light under the tail gate for toad lights ( they dont have one posred for the Ram but it will fit and work ) also M&G brake (it is a little tight fit with the wiring harness) i removed the battery to make it easier to install, basically it was a easy install and i did a write up on the forum if intrested.
The Roadmaster was also a easy install hardest part is removing the two tabs on the frame.
Moshen if you need more info just pm me.

Thanks Walt. I see that on some models you have to trim the opening where the blue ox tabscome through. I was surprised to see the procedure for getting the transfer case into neutral. Have to pull off a dash piece and pull on a strap. Kind of a pia. They should just have a neutral position. I went to look at a 2016 Limited today. Only 7000 miles and pearl white. Gorgeous BUT it was a crew cab with a short box. I really need the longer box. I will keep LOOKING. I AM

No Moishen you put in netural tow in the middle of the 4wd by pushing a small switch in the middel of 4wd control i use a ball point pen and have the procedure typed out and sealed in plastic you just push the small switch until the n light stops blinking and goes solid on.
One of the easiest 4X4 to tow no battery cable to unhook just put in N tow mode and go.
The Roadmaster brackets also has no triming they use the tow hook opening, it is some easy triming for the breakaway air valve hook up and power line hookup but nothing you can see from above i also hid my breakaway air tank behind the front bumper also one picture did not make it and i will post on another post.
Sorry it wont let me post another picture now but i will post what the front looks like in the AM
They are deep discounts on 2018 or 2017 , i got over a $14,000 discount on the new 2017 Big Horn and ended up geting it at about the same price of a used low milage 20,000 to 30,000 2017 from Manheim dealer auction in our area.

Please re-read your instructions. Thats not right Walt is right. You must put the t/case in neutral by pressing the small switch with a pen, and the transmission must be in Park. The pull strap you reference is the emergency gearshift release in case there is a failure with the shifter. Please read the instructions again. And then read them once more. Let it soak in. Bottom line is you don't want to allow the transmission to turn any at all. T/case must be placed in Neutral to disconnect the driveline.

I got that information from a dealership you tube video. Thanks for setting me straight. My Silverado setup is very similar. You turn the transfer case switch all the way and a light let's you know it is in neutral. The trimming of the grill area was for one particular model. I think it was one without tow hooks. Blue ox has a complete description. I amglad there are others using the Ram. That way I get lots of tips. I am having difficulties finding a. Loaded long box. I really do not want to buy new. I have found many nice 2016/2017 Laramies with less than 20,000 km but all have been short box . My last Mopar truck was my first new vehicle. A 1974 club cab. It was so bad I had to sell it as soon as the warranty ran out. I think they have changed in 44 years!!! Thanks again for all the information.

I've been towing a 2016 Ram Big Horn for years without issue. I use a Blue OX base plate and 10K tow bar and an M&G brake system. The transfer disconnect procedure using the small button switch is the correct method.

Finaly uploaded the picture of the front of the Ram with Roadmaster brackets and they twist and lock like Blue Ox.
Actually if i had it to do again i would strongly consider the gas V6 it has good power with the 8 speed and super fuel milage , i would never consider the V6 diesel as it would never pay out the difference. I love the V8 and the twin exaust set up but i like the fuel milage of the V6 gas

Well I did the deed!! Thanks to Walt and other posters I bought a 2018 Longhorn. In was going to try and fine a good used truck but that can be futile. I bought it over the phone and will pick up on Monday. It is a little different due to the 2 tone. The front bumper is not chrome Painted metal. I downloaded the Blue Ox instructions and it appears to be even an easier install than my Silverado. I use a Unified Tow brake. I hope the Ram has a regular vacuum booster for the brakes???? I will have to find a spot for mounting he solenoid that pulls on the brake pedal. In my last 2 trucks it fit under the passenger side on the floor right next to the firewall I think the Ram has room under the front seat. Have any Ram owners had problems with the death wobble? Any other tips appreciated. I haven't had a brand new truck since my disastrous 1974 Dodge! I am excited. I looked at a 2019 yesterday and they have made some nice changes. BUT it appears the list price is about $5000 higher!!! It is hard to find colours other than Black or white. My fave is Pearl White. I don't count the yellow as a color!
