I didn't give you the specific page at Smitty's website for the information you need. This page will give you information about the disconnect and lube pump.

Driveline Modifications for Towing -- Smitty's RV & Welding

They can give you advice on which is the way to go but the disconnect is probably the most desirable as has been pointed out but talk to them to get their take on it. As they mention, some vehicles require a lube pump but I don't think your pickup would necessarily require one so hopefully you can get fitted with a disconnect.

Let us know what you eventually do and where you had it done if not at Smitty's.

I've been looking at the same issue except my truck is a 2008 regular cab with a v-6 and a manual transmission. It still needs a drive line disconnect. The cost of the disconnect was a little less than $1,000 but probably that with shipping. The only thing I didn't like was Superior told me to simply seal the hole in the floorboard where the disconnect control comes through with silicone. This won't happen I'll find some type of bulkhead liquid tight fitting to run the cable through. I would expect installation to be in the $200-$300 range since it's only a few bolts and a drilled hole. I'll do mine myself. The thing I like about the driveline disconnect is it completely eliminates the transmission turning.

I would trade the truck for something towable before blowing a bunch of money on lube pumps or disconnects. Neither one adds value like 4x4 does. There are many choices of vehicles factory approved for towing.
