2015 ford focus flat tow

I am about to flat tow a 2015 ford focus for the first time. I am changing over from a manual transmission fiesta. My question is about the transmission ready screen. When I get to that screen there is a blank bar that gets filled in and then that screen goes away. At this point if I turn off the ignition and release the brake pedal am I good to go? Kind of dumb question but this is my first auto transmission tow and I'm a little nervous. Thanks in advance

No, you still have to disconnect the battery. Then once you disconnect the battery you can remove the key from the ignition.

As far as the screen nothing else is required.

69 Stang, I t looks like you have a,2015 also. My biggest question is on that transmission ready screen. Does that bar at the bottom have to be filled in before turning the key off?

No, as soon as it says "Transmission Ready" you're ready to go. If it makes you feel better go ahead and wait until it's full. Only takes a second or two.

I do have the 2015 Focus and for a inexpensive car I love it. It handles great and I've gotten up to 38 MPG on the highway. Only negative I can say is the transmission is weird sometimes. I'd buy it again.

I have 54K driven miles on it and about 5k towed and haven't had any issues (knock on wood).

Hi ! Welcome to IRV2! We're sure glad you joined the gang!

Sorry, can't help with the Focus.

Good luck, happy trails, and God bless!

Okay, not to beat this to death, but I noticed the negative battery cable is very hard to get at. I was told not to disconnect at the firewall . Any easy way? Putting a disconnect switch on the positive side would sure be easier.

That question has been beat to death on this forum, but since you're new no harm. Did you read the thread I posted? I won't be disconnecting the positive, just the negative like Ford requires.

If you have an hour or so you can read this one also:
