2017 GMC Dash US gal or Canadian gal?
My wife asked me what mileage we were getting with our 2017 Sierra?
Good question!
So myself not liking the metric system would like to program the dash which is very easy to do to the USA measurements.
So my question is when changing the dash to Imperial Measurements I would think he MPG would be read out in US gallons which are different to our Canadian Gallon?
I want to figure it in Canadian Gallons IE 4.5 liters to the Gallon apposed to 4 liters per US Gallon.

You lost me! 1 Gallon = 3.7854118 Liters
The gallon (/ˈɡælən/) is a unit of measurement for fluid capacity in both the US customary units and the British imperial systems of measurement. Three significantly different sizes are in current use: the imperial gallon defined as 4.54609 litres (4 imperial quarts or 8 imperial pints), which is used in the United Kingdom, Canada, and some Caribbean nations; the US gallon defined as 231 cubic inches (4 US liquid quarts or 8 US liquid pints) or about 3.785 L, which is used in the US and some Latin American and Caribbean countries; and the least-used US dry gallon defined as 1/8 US bushel (4.405 L).

No Imperial measurement available , you'll get kms/liter or miles/usg.
Add 25 % to the miles/usg, mileage to convert to miles/impg.
US quart = 32 floz , Imperial quart 40 floz ; or 25% more.

Take your litres per hundred for example 10 and multiply by 2.78 that will give you you a fairly close Canadian gallons per mile.
Not exact but close enough for all purposes. If you don’t like the answer round up

I used to be sort of anal about recording MPG, but now I just fill it up and drive!
I switched to miles vs kilometers, and then I'm all screwed up with the distances marked in km. here!
Gas for $1.36 a liter makes me not want to know what my mileage is!!! For our US friends, that's about $6.90 Canadian per US gallon.
And we are planning a 10-12,000 km.(6-7,000 mile) trip this Summer! Sure nice to have a good credit card.
Happy Glamping.

Be happy that the pipeline from Edmonton runs through Kamloops.
Just back from the USA and diesel in Spokane was $3,99.9 a gallon .Other places $3,29.9 to $3,59.9
If it had been $3,78.0 that would =$1.00 US per liter; at the current exchange $1,33.0 Canadian . When I crossed the boarder diesel was $1,39.9 L . So some spots in USA diesel is as expensive or more, than in Canada .
Gas on the other hand runs $0,30 to $0,40 a US gallon than diesel , where in Canada , diesel is a few cents per liter cheaper than gas.

Funny that! While filling up the MH in Phoenix in April, I overheard a woman complaining that they had to pay over $3.00 a gallon some place!

Talking with a friend in Kalispell who had just come fro California , diesel was in the $4 range ....... then there's Needles CA. can't imagine what fuel costs there.
Sorry , Ted, don't mean to hi-jack your post.

Thanks for all the replies.
I never think about the cost until after the holiday.

I love my home state, Texas. Diesel is a buck a gal less than Washington state I just left.....The 2 sides of our country are a rip off. And most expenses are cheaper mid continent.
