2017 Jeep Cherokee Overland actual curb weight
I am posting this as I hope it will help others, I have found it very hard to find actual curb weight for my specific model of Cherokee, there is a lot out there on the Trail Hawks, but not the other flat towable versions.
We have a 2017 Jeep Cherokee Overland (not Grand Cherokee) that I am setting up for TOAD duty. In preparation for this I weighed it today, just to confirm it is within my towing capacity (there is mixed information if my hitch is rated at 4,500 or 5,000 pounds).
Well with half a tank of gas and probably 50 pounds worth of stuff in the back and no passengers (roadside emergency kit, empty ice chest, etc. the Cherokee weighed in at about 4170 pounds using my wheel weigher scale one wheel at a time (1240 each of the front wheels and 840-850 on each of the back +/- as it measures in 5 pound increments)
Our Cherokee Overland edition has the 3.2L V6, Active Drive II and almost all the options, excluding no tow package, and no optional skid plates.
Base plates, hitch rise adapter, tow bar, etc will of course add a bit more weight, but even with that I should be under 4,500 pounds.
