2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 Down Max Wt.?
Hello,
I have Model 32V (32 ft.), 2005 Southwind Cl. A on Workhorse chassis, with 8.1 Chevy V8 engine with Banks system. I would like to tow my Grand Cherokee, 4 down, with external braking. Believe gross weight of 2017 Jeep toad at about 4800 lbs. Have proper transmission, but concerned about max. weight on chassis. Any recommendations or concerns would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have weighed our '19 GC and it's right at 4,800 pounds.

my rv has a 7500 hitch and tow capacity. I am towing my JGC cross country soon. I have only towed it 10 miles so far. It was the same as towing my Avalon on a dolly. It did not seem to be too much weight.

You should check the weight rating on your MH hitch for towing.
Also learn the Gross Combined Weight Rating for your MH.

We have a similar setup to yours - ours is a 2007 Bounder 35E (36 feet long) on the Workhorse W22 chassis, without the Banks setup. Last year we changed from towing a smart car to a 2017 Jeep Wrangler 4-door. At almost 2.5 times the weight of the smart car we know the Jeep is back there - acceleration is slower and we lost about 1 mpg on our fuel consumption. Haven't attempted any huge climbs yet but I imagine the extra weight back there will definitely be felt!

I believe my weights are
gvwr - 20,700
gcvwr- 26,000
hitch rating 5000 w/500lb tongue wt.
I just went from an '07 CRV to a '17 Edge Sport but haven't been on a trip with it yet. It probably is just a couple hundred lbs lighter than your GC.

We have a 2017 GRAND Cherokee and have had the death wobble three times and no longer tow it but still own it. You need to read this thread so you understand what he death wobble and what to do if you get it.
