2018 Taurus as Toad

I am setting up our 2018 Taurus as a replacement for our 2007 Liberty.

I installed the Roadmaster base plate with the blue ox adapters but have a question about how to wire the tail lights?

Would i use a 2 to 3 wire converter and diodes to get the stop, signal, and running lights on the Taurus to all function? If I just go with the 2 wire and diodes option (brake and signal combined), would the toad brake lights cancel the signal lights when braking?

In the liberty I just put an extra socket in each tail light but that isn't an option in the Taurus LED tail lights.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Thanks Dave,

I have decided to use a 2 to three wire converter so that the brake lights will be seperate from the signal lights so as to conform to the toad lighting system. The e-trailer method is to combine the brake and signal into one.
