2019 GMC Canyon

Our Toad utilizes a RVi Brake System. Over the last 10 months we have encountered the same issue 3 times. 2 Trips of approx. 125 miles and 1 - Trip of 1150 miles. Once we reached our final destination we disconnected our toad and brake system. We were unable to shift the transmission into drive or reverse. Consequently, we were unable to move our toad.

After approx. 2 hours we were able to finally shift the transmission into gear, so we could move the toad.

Has anyone else encountered this issue? Hence, do you know the reason for this problem?

This used to be the resolution in 2016 for the Canyon..........

TRANSFER CASE STUCK IN NEUTRAL

If the transfer case is stuck in neutral after dinghy towing and cannot be shifted out of neutral accompanied with a service 4wd message in the DIC, the following sequence will restore transfer case shifting.

1. With the ignition in the RUN position and engine not running.
2. Open the hood and remove the 30 Amp TREC fuse in the under hood fuse block.
3. Reinstall the 30 amp fuse
4. Continue with "Shifting out of neutral" in the owner’s manual.
