2019 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk

Just brought home our new Trailhawk. Does anyone know when BlueOx will have a base plate for flat towing for the 2019 model? I checked with Roadmaster and they have one going to production in three weeks.... I've asked how long it will take to get them out to customers, no word yet. We have vacation schedule for June and hope to be able to leave the tow dolly at home. (yes, we know we can't use tow dolly on 4X4)

I am also interested in a 2019 Trailhawk. Demco has a baseplate designed for non-Trailhawks but when I talked with them this week, they haven’t yet looked at any Trailhawks. Roadmaster told me this week they haven’t designed a baseplate for any 2019 Cherokee model yet. Good news if I got bad information from their rep. I didn’t talk with Blue Ox as I had a bad experience with their baseplate on my 2015 Trailhawk.

Have you gotten the flat tow harness for your 2019? When I inquired with my Jeep dealer parts department, they could not tell me anything about what harness would be required for the 2019s. Their information only shows the one for the 2014 - 2018 models. Likely the 2019s will use the same harness but I would like to know for sure before I pull the trigger on a new vehicle. Having experienced wobbles with my 2015 Cherokee Trailhawk, I will not pull a Cherokee without the harness installed and operable!

Roadmaster rep just confirmed they are shooting for 3 weeks. I haven't talked to the Service Department yet about the Mopar wiring harness and I just checked the owners manual and it doesn't specify part number.

You should check with Blue Ox. They have modified the base plates to bolt to the original bumper and bolt to the frame. This eliminates any problem with cracks in the Trailhawk frame as the bumper bracket provides reinforcement for lateral force when towing. I would bet the base plate will fit a 2019. I just finished installing blue pates on my 2018 Trailhawk. BX1136 is the part number for Trailhawks.
I don't think Jeep has gone back to the 2014 set up but a Easy way To verify if you need a flat tow harness: Look for a power steering hydraulic fluid reservoir. My 2014 has one and I don't need a towing harness cause the system is electric/hydraulic hybrid. The hydraulic fluid provides the resistance needed to keep the Jeep from doing the death wobble.
