2020 Grand Cherokee steering lock?

Setting up my 2020 Trailhawk to tow. I see the instructions on how to get it into nuetral but not how to keep the steering from locking. I was actually trying to see if the steering did lock and it didn't seem like it was ever locked. Is there anything special that needs to be done? Any gotchas?

It doesn’t have a steering lock. In general the Stellantis/FCA/Chrysler vehicles don’t use a steering lock.

Yep, Grand Cherokees haven't had a steering wheel lock since 2004.

Are you going to set it yourself, or get someone to do it for you...? We have a 2019 GC that I set up myself. Its not that difficult if you're handy with tools. eTrailer.com has some good installation videos of the process.

To answer your original question, there is nothing special other than putting the xfer case in neutral and connecting all the equipment in order to tow.

Some folks have had issues with the "death wobble" with earlier models, but I have never experienced it with ours. We have the Overland model with the air suspension. I always make sure the suspension is pumped up to regular ride height and the power steering set to sport mode before turning everything off before pulling out.

2X on the post mentioning the eTrailer.com installation videos of the process. Was scarey taking the front facia off on a new vehicle and it came out well.
Fortunately haven't experienced the death wobble either with 30K towing miles.
