2021 Ford Ranger and NSA Ready Brake

I have used the NSA Ready Brake for years on a Jeep Liberty and it has worked great.
I just bought a 2021 Ford Ranger to use as my new Toad. I’ve also installed a NSA Ready Brake. I have not towed the Ranger yet.
The Ranger brake pedal is very stiff and hard to push when the engine is not running. My concern is if the Ready Brake will have enough power to pull the brake pedal down and activate the brakes. The Jeep Liberty was not that difficult to push when not running.
I called NSA Tech support and they assured me that it will work fine.
Anyone have experience?

It uses the weight of the toad to move a lever to pull a cable to pull the brake pedal. The weight of the Ranger will suffice.

The cable attached to the brake pedal is pretty strong, should be just fine.
I would keep the cable housing as straight as possible from the brake pedal to the center of the truck. Not too close to engine/exhaust. Have as few of curves in housing as possible.

Thanks guys-

The cable is as straight as possible. Lots of stuff under the hood of new cars.

Leaving Thursday on a short trip to Fredericksburg Texas Swap meet

I’ll report back.

We took our first short trip with our 2021 Ford Ranger. Only about 200 miles but, enough to get a feel for how it towed and stopped.
I’m very pleased with the Roadmaster All Terrain tow bar, which I’ve used for years on a Jeep Liberty. The NSA READY BRAKE worked fine with the Ranger. I still have a little fine tuning to do on the brake cable.
I guess it’s OK to sell the Liberty and downsize by 1 vehicle.
