2021 JEEP Rubicon Toad Brake options

As the new owner of a 2015 Essex , I am exploring my Toad options, and have a strong preference for the 2021 JEEP Rubicon 4Dr.

My coach came with a Blue Ox tow bar and a Brakebuddy Vantage Select B system (with remote). On the Jeep - I plan on an aftermarket bumper /winch set up with the D-ring style hook ups (and adaptors) for the tow bar, but am wondering about the optimum brake control options.

Will my existing Brakebuddy work? or should I upgrade it?

Note: I realize I will need to add in an emergency disconnect switch.

Thanks,

Mike

I know nothing about the Brake buddy. I use an RVi3 portable brake that carried over from our previous JK. It's working great in the new 2020 Gladiator we towed all last summer.
Since you have a Diesel Pusher, you may also look into the air operated systems if you are not happy with the Brake Buddy.
One thing I can tell you, that with the complicated electronics in the new Jeeps, I would highly recommend the CoolTech LLC tow harness. It has a switch that completely separates the Jeep and the RV. Lights are powered by the RV only while towing. No diodes.
Some have had problems when the Jeep "falls asleep" after 15 minutes.
A friend of ours bought a Mopar harness for his new Gladiator. It looked far more complicated than our CoolTech. Once he saw mine installed, he returned the Mopar harness and also went with the Cooltech.

I currently tow a 2020 Gladiator. When I first started towing 4 down I purchased the Blue system, tow bar, base plate and Patriot brake system. I used that brake for a Honda CRV, Ford Fiesta, Jeep Jl and then my Gladiator it work fine on all. I got tired of having to install and remove the brake box. I switched to the M&G brake system and really like it. Easy to hookup and remove, just a simple air line. I also use the Blue Ox diode system for by toad lights. It's been in each vehicle from day one, no issues.
