Does anyone know if the death wobble problem has been rectified in the 2022 Jeep Cherokee? eTrailer says it has but I called to all of the Jeep related customer assist numbers which end with "let me get back to you". Tried all of the numbers without getting an answer to this question. We purchased this Jeep after having been assured by the staff that the Cherokee can be towed wheels down without a problem.

If you search through Irv2 for "death wobble," you will get the entire history, what caused it, and see that Jeep added a fix to the 2019 Cherokee. So your 2022 will not experience it and can be flat towed so long as you have the ADII transmission. You can also check out the www.JeepCherokeeClub.com website for additional information on your new vehicle.

I spoke to our person at Jeep Wave, and was told that according to Jeep, the 2022 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk needs the flat towing kit installed. I have spent the last two hours on the phone to our dealer and Jeep Wave. No one seems to know the part number, if the old part numbers mentioned on this site is still good or will fit our 2022. I have written a letter to the CEO of Jeep but have not received an answer. Anyone have any ideas?

We own a 2021 Jeep G/C and the harness is needed. I think a 2022 does not need the harness. Go to your Jeep dealer and put a 2022 Jeep in tow mode then turn the Jeep off if the steering wheel stays lose you do not did the harness. Please read

If during your test, you find that your 2022 Cherokee Trail Hawk needs the harness installed, it is not the end of the world. We have been towing Cherokees and Grand Cherokees since 2015. Since both have electric assist power steering, they both can have the death wobble. It has happened 3 times while towing behind our Bay Star. It always happens at very low speeds - under 10 mph. The cure is to stop. That’s all you need to do. When you start back up, the wobble is gone. Some on here treat it as OMG, I had the DEATH WOBBLE! It’s not that big of a deal to me. 3 times in 12,000 miles of towing. I can live with that. Good luck

Beginning with the 2019 model year there was a change in the steering gear that eliminated the need to install the flat tow harness. I have towed my 19 for 19K+ miles with no issues.
