2022 Wrangler Baseplate &Tail light kit

Well, we finally did it, we’re getting rid of my 2004 Liberty, I pulled it 110,00 miles.
Bought a Wrangler Sport S with the options I wanted.
My problem is my local RV dealer who is a Blue Ox installer told me they will not install my Baseplate and tail light kit because I didn’t buy my motorhome there.
I told him, I did. I bought my first motorhome there in 1999.
They said it didn’t count.
So now I have to call around and maybe drive 5 hours one way to get it done.
That’s pretty bad.

It's probably all for the better, actually. Dealers are notorious for charging way too much for that type of work. If you can't do the work yourself, there has to be somebody that is closer than 5 hours away from you, isn't there?

Many smaller trailer shops will do if for less, or some welding shops will do it. Some body shops will do it for much less than a dealership. Some smaller RV repair shops can most likely also do if for less than an RV dealership.

Or, at least use the Blue Ox dealer locator to see if you can find some shop to do it that is closer than five horurs away:

Just want to mention the Wrangler was the easiest toad I've ever had for making toad ready. Tons of under clearance, bumper is removable with 4 bolts, lots of room, etc. Just take a look at the install instructions with whatever equipment you purchased and see how straightforward it is before you invest in 10 hours of windshield time.

Ok if you don't do it yourself, then spend the money at Camping World if one is nearby. OK, don't flame me for saying that but that is what they do.
The better option is having a new bumper installed at you local Outfitter that has the Toad hookup points already on it. This way you kill 3 birds with one stone. You get a better bumper, a winch and NO baseplate needed. Then all you need is an Aux brake system.

Buy a Rockhard bumper for $900 and install it yourself. It is very easy to do and has blue ox tabs on it. This saves your $400 for baseplate cost and the additional install cost. Like was said earlier, you get a better bumper and do not lose any ground clearance.

Looks like they are $1500 plus $84 for the Blueox tab
So it’s about $1600 for the bumper
$1900 for the Blue Ox baseplate
