I just took delivery of my 2023 GC Summit Reserve and I have the V6. I did the tow package with Roadmaster base plates and Air Force 1 supplemental brakes and I also have a Roadmaster Nighthawk towbar and mine seems to tow fine.
If I get into a really tight turn, and I'm talking with the coach steering wheel turned all the way over to the lock, almost in a jackknife situation the tires do drag a little bit but I think that's to be expected.
I have only done two test runs with it and put about 50 miles on it and I took it to a big parking lot and did a lot of turns.
I read the problems with the automatic braking and I actually go into the setup screen and disable that just out of caution.
Another note, the Grand Cherokee Summit sits so high in normal ride height level that I would have have to use a 6 in adapter to raise the receiver heigh on the coach to get the tow bar level. Instead, I used a 4-in adapter and tow the Aero mode.
Knock on wood everything seems to be fine, time will tell with my first long trip. I'm not sure why others are having a problem. I've had lots of conversations with the original poster about this. I have a long mechanical background in the car business and tried to help figure out why this is happening and can't put my finger on it. Here's a picture of my setup.
Where the AF1 is installed, can’t find a good place for on 2023 GC Overland

Mbaril: great to hear you are towing 2023 GC without a steering issue. I communicate with others about it all the time, some do….some don’t.
If you're able to make turns in the parking lot, at stop signs etc. without skidding, you’re good to go!
As for the tow bar height, I’ve been told by several people they tow in Aero mode without issue. I’ve never done it.
Hi Richard, I have not tow the Jeep yet, I'm currently installing the base plate, and then the AF1 but I would like to know where exactly you have fix your unit under the hood?

A vacuum nipple cap, you can get them at any auto parts store in various sizes.
One more question, I have test everything this morning, towing, lights, brake system AF1, all working good except when I put the fuse on for AF1, the monitor light stay illuminated at all times. the instalation book says " if the reed switch arcs to ground, it will cause the light to stay on " I don't understand what they mean by arcs to ground? thanks

No issues with 20 GC trailhawk. I do prefer to drag our 02 wrangler - pull up the TC lever is the one step for the old school manual wrangler.
Candidly, we are hunting for an alum trailer so we can USE the jeeps off road on our travels, yet be able to bring home if we break. Also - and maybe as important- we would bring our Tesla from time to time.

I'm not sure sure why they would say that but it's just a fancy way of saying that the switch is staying on. There is an adjustment on the cylinder itself for the little switch, I recently had to adjust my own
