24K/30K coaches built by REV have a different hitch than advertised!

Earlier, I posted a thread about this subject and I was going to post this there. However, the information that I received from REV is important enough that I feel it needs to be shared in a post of its own.

If you have a 24K/30K motorhome built by REV, you may have been frustrated that REV only put a 5K hitch on there, which prevented you from ever reaching your full 30K weight. 29K was the highest you could reach. Well, I just heard back from REV and they admitted there has been a documentation error on these rigs!
Earlier, I posted about having recently discovering that my unit was built with an 8K hitch, not the 5K hitch that was supposed to be there. If that is the case, then I should be able to haul all the way up to my full 30K GCWR, not the 29K limit. To be sure, I sent a communique to REV via their website, asking them (1) why I had the incorrect hitch installed and (2) would I now be safe to tow up to the limit of the GCWR. Today, I heard back from them. Rather than summarize, I will post the entire response back.

Hello! Please accept our apologies for the delay in response. Our Engineering team had to do some research on this.

This is what they found:

We did qualify this hitch to 8k. Traditionally we had documented these to 5k due to historically only using a 22k chassis. This 24k chassis is unique in that it gets an additional 1000 lbs due to how the numbers stack up.

To answer one question, the hitch is not incorrect. Since it is shared across all Bounders this is the one we use.

(You) will be fine loading it to the sticker on the hitch (up to the GCWR).
Hopefully that helps!

************************************************** *************

Apparently, they have been using the 8K hitch on ALL Bounders with the 24K chassis, but never changed their documentation to reflect this since they moved up from the 22K chassis.
This also means we are fine to use that additional 1K of capacity!
I honestly felt that I wouldn’t get a response from REV on this one. To say the least, I’m shocked that they admitted their documentation was incorrect and that we really can have this extra towing capacity.

I hope this helps anyone who is making a decision on either a motorhome or a toad. This clearly opens up a lot more options on toad vehicles.
