4Runner TOADs - Push button
Anyone towing a newer 4runner with the manual transfer case and the push to start function? how do you keep the steering wheel unlocked? all threads say put key in but they threads are all 2 years old, and I am assuming the posters had regular keys.

Does the steering wheel lock ?
Many manufacturers did away with the column lock with the change to chipped keys and push button start .

I do not think any year 4Runner is flat towable.
No neutral on the manual transfer case.

looked at a manual and it looks like it does. They make mention of how to unlock it with push start. i think i need to get to a dealer and check it out. I have posted on some on some toyota forums and i think i have leave it in accessory mode. The only issue with that is the front wheels lock for 4x4 when moving the manual transfer case to nuetral. But i can put in a switch to deactivate that pretty easily.

From 2023 4 Runner owner's manual:
"Recreational towing (behind motor home, etc.) (4WD models)Never dinghy tow your vehicle to prevent causing serious damage to the transmission. (P. 198)"
Page 198
Dinghy towing Your vehicle is not designed to be dinghy towed (with 4 wheels on the ground) behind a motor home.
"NOTICE■To avoid serious damage to your vehicle Do not tow your vehicle with the four wheels on the ground."

Taking a quick look, it appears that Roadmaster is the only one that offers baseplates for a late model 4Runners. I don't see Blue Ox listing one since 2007 and none at Demco.
Roadmaster has the following cautionary comments:
