6 Inch Lift on Tow and Stress on Extra Hitch

I recently lifted my 2013 Jeep Rubicon 4dr and to ensure my connection to the tow bar was level I also purchased a 6 inch extended reese hitch. It is rated for 10,000 pounds and felt it best for the jeep. It fit perfectly into the trailer hitch on Palazzo but when I tried to push the Blue Ox tow bar in to the second pin hole it only went to the first pin hole. It had been inserted to the second pin hole when set into the Palazzo hitch.

Anyway, it extends out an additional 3 inches. I towed the jeep for over 400 miles and I am not experiencing any problems but just wondered if this extra 3 inches in length could/would present any problems down the road? I am worried about stress on turns or slowing and perhaps there being any undue stress on the 6 inch riser?

Has anyone else experienced anything similar and if so was there any issues as you put miles on?

Thanks for the help.

I wouldn't worry about it. You could find discussions about de-rating the towing capacity of a trailer hitch due to extending it, but 3 inches is below the noise level. If you are talking 12 to 24 inches, you might want to de-rate it and compare the de-rated capacity to your Jeep weight. The height of the ball would not effect the capacity much either...even less than the length of the hitch.
