My guess: mostly Jeeps, followed by CR-Vs? Coming in last would be this 55 Studebaker.

we flat tow a 2014 Dodge Challenger (6 sped trans).

Tow a 2010 Kia Soul standard shift. 120,000 on the odometer and towed about another 70,000.

We use a 2019 Nissan Versa sedan with a manual transmission. Cheapest car you can buy in North America, assembled in Mexico. Works great, except my DW has refused to drive it, although she drove a manual in younger days. 2400 lbs and tows easily, and it can carry a lot of stuff we don't have storage space for in the camper. I expect it to last a long time, and don't see any need to upgrade soon.

Our toad is a 2009 RAV4, FWD, automatic. It is equipped with a REMCO lube pump to circulate the transmission fluid. We tow 4 down behind a 2016 Leisure Travel Van Serenity model (Sprinter 3500 diesel engine/frame). The vehicle tracks very well and tires wear normal. We have over 47,000 towing miles and odometer says about 115,000 which does not include towing miles. All we have to do is hook up, put in neutral, and flip on the SMI braking system. We did install a toad charger. This vehicle was not chosen specifically to tow. We bought it brand new in the 2009 cash for clunkers incentive as a daily driver. Sadly, for this configuration (possibly the only towable Toyota SUV), 2012 was the last year. Later Toyota vehicles can not be towed as far as I know. I have no idea what our next toad will be if I ever wear this one out.

Ford Escape Hybrid

Just bought a new 2020 Ford Escape Hybrid All Wheel Drive to tow behind a 2021 Dutch Star I’ll be picking up at the factory. Called a couple of places in Elkhart for the baseplate, supplemental brakes, etc...evidently I am not the first to use the Escape Hybrid. They said mine will be the third they have set up.

1989 Honda Civic 5 speed, hatchback (DX: no a/c, no PS, crank windows). I’ve always meant to take a pic as we’re pulling it, but I always forget.

We have been towing Geo Trackers and Suzuki Sidekicks behind our various rv's for many years. They're my elder guy harley, and still make me GRIN when the tops down.

Ha. I learned to drive a stick in a yellow and white hardtop version one of these. Ugliest car our family ever owned, but fun for a young driver in the 60’s. 3 speed on the column and a forgiving clutch. Memories.

We've been towing a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee since 2004. Not the same jeep. On our third now, from a base Grand Cherokee to the Overland. All the same basic drive train. Tow great, Rugged (last of the solid axles), go almost anywhere and decent on road manors / ride. Afraid we will be looking for something else "soon" getting harder and harder to find cherry low mileage 16+ year old Grand Cherokee.
