Add-a-Brake Wiring Problem

We tow a 2011 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and use the Roadmaster add-a-brake. Everything works fine except one morning we were leaving early enough that we needed to use the MH headlights. To my shock I discovered that turning on the MH lights activated the brake. With my limited electrical knowledge I believe the wiring is right but there's obviously a problem. Any ideas?
Thanks

Sounds like it's wired to running light circuit instead of brake light circuit. Or you have a short between two circuits and they both activate.
