Air Force One install on Jeep GC

I have a new 2019 Jeep GC and want to setup for towing. I want to use the Air Force One braking system this time because my MH chassis is already setup for this.

So...has anyone installed an Air Force One braking system on a 2019 Jeep Grand Cherokee? I was looking into this and found pictures of the control unit installed in the engine compartment on top of the fuse box. The pictures are from older GC's (2016 and 17). Looking at mine, it doesn't look like there is enough clearance to close the hood if the control unit is on top of the fuse box. Otherwise there is not much space else where under the hood.

My GC is the 5.7 V8 High Altitude model.

I have a 2014 with the same engine. I had an older unit I wanted to use but it was too big. The new style is lower. When I got it I laid it on top of the fuse box and checked the clearance and it's close but works.

To check place the unit on top if the fuse box. Take some tinfoil and crumple it up slightly and lay that on top of the control box. Open and close and you will see where the hood strut stops.

Installation recommends using velcro to hold it in place. The heat would make the adhesive fail so I installed 3 stainless screws with a jam nut. You place the control box on top and I have brass thumb screws to hold in place. Pictures attached.Click image for larger version

Thanks for the info. I like the idea of using tin foil to check clearance. I'll give that a try.
