Another Toad battery charging question
I'm curious - why not just run a wire from the center of the 6-pin plug to the battery? Seems like this would charge the battery with minimal extra wiring. Maybe throw a fuse in there too?

That is also possible, but in our case the RV had a 7 pin connector and there was no wiring for the power to it so I had to connect it up then go to a 6 way on the towed.
On a 6 way the power is to the center pin and a 7 way it's #4 that carries the power.

Interesting, I hadn't thought about the 7-pin not being completely hooked up. Assuming it is, another option would be to hook an auxiliary power port directly from the 6-pin with an inline fuse. This would let me bypass the electric on the car 100% and I wouldn't need to leave the key turned on while driving.
Note - my current plan is to hook up the auxiliary port to an always-on spot in the fuse box. I could leave the toad turned off that way, but there would still be a draw on the battery from the brake system. Maybe I should say my plan 'was'...

Are you sure it wasn't hooked up? On most rigs, not all but most, the bat+ on the plug is not hot unless the key is on and/or the engine running.

Amazon sells a Bully TC-182 trailer adaptor.it utilizes the 12 volt pin in the MH trailer plug. I use a 12 volt plug fused to the toad battery..fused again at the battery.easy install!

Yes, I'm sure, there was no wire on the #4 pin in the 7 way.
