Any experience towing a 2006 Honda Pilot (2WD)?

I need to have a tow vehicle (as do most of us) and right now, without buying another car, I have a 2006 Honda Pilot that is a '2 wheel drive' vehicle and is in great shape, both mechanically as well as looks. I have another vehicle, but it is not towable unless on a trailer. I have read that the 2005 Honda Pilot was towable and I've seen articles where 2003-2011 Honda Pilots are towable, but I have yet to hear from someone who actually did it. Have I checked with the dealer: Yes! No real response, just a lot of hem, hawing. Someone other than me must have had experiences with this year and model! Just needing a little help, before plopping down a bundle on tow equipment that won't do me any good! Thanks for any help!

Honda will say NO. But we towed an '05 Odyssey four down for years with no problem.

Tow at your own risk and pocketbook$$$. Motorhome Magazine 2006 dinghy towing guide only shows the CRV awd/2wd as flat towable.

Exaactly!

Called Honda, first answer was "NO", then..."wait a minute....you said 2 wheel Drive, Hmm...don't know the answer about that!?!?!"

It's not like I'm going to void the warranty, however, I don't want to be sitting on the side of the road with a fried transmission, either! The car would be a perfect tow, if I can do it 4 wheels down! Sad part is that I sold my old Jeep Liberty a few months before I decided to get back into RV'ing. It towed perfectly for years.

Yes, it is towable. You need to follow these directions!

Start vehicle, shift through ALL the gears to low, shift from low, 2nd to drive.
Shift from drive to neutral, let idle 3 minutes, turn off vehicle and radio.
DO NOT shift from any other gear to Neutral. Always go from Drive to Neutral. I emphasize this because you'll destroy the transmission.
Do Not pull over 65 MPH and restart the vehicle after eight hours.
These were the steps we followed each time when we towed our 2004 Odyssey qll over the states.
