Question Anyone installed ReadyStop? Where to mount?

I have the Readybrute tow bar with readybrake all installed. Trying to install the ReadyStop breakaway system now. Can't find a good place to mount the little red box. Anyone here done this and have a pic of where it was installed? Searched here and google to no avail...

You need to mount it in a place that you can get to in order to grease it once in a while. It functions the same whether it is level, at an angle, upside down, or whatever, so I mounted ours upside down on the car frame near the front of the car where I can grease it with a grease gun.

Thanks, any chance you can post a pic of where you mounted it? When I'm looking under car frame, it seems too exposed/low to the ground to mount there.

I mounted mine on the finder well and ran the cable with a straight shot to the emergency brake peddle.

It can be mounted just about anywhere. The cable doesn't have to be in a straight line since it is a one time use emergency only device and will probably (hopefully) never be used. Mount it wherever you can and still be able to get one end of the cable to your brake pedal and the other end to the front of your toad near your tow bar connecting point.

I mounted ours right on top of the front bumper. We have a 20 year old Tracker so it's not as much of an issue compared to a new Jeep.

I never gave a thought to mounting the box inside the engine compartment and running the cable out. It would have gone nicely on top of the fender well.

I knew someone had posted pics but I could not find it with the search either. BTW the older ones were silver, not red. Not that it makes any difference.
This is a photo of ours after the end of the cable broke off.
