Anyone Know Of A Good Car Wash?

This picture was taken when we were coming back from a awesome snow skiing/hiking trip with our granddaughter. Think I should expect her to wash it?

Side Note: Besides skiing and hiking, I took my 17 year old granddaughter driving in our toad on plowed and unplowed and icy roadways within the park. When it was safe to do so, I got her to slam on the brakes several times so she could feel what ABS feels like. I also had her drive on a snow packed parking area and make sharp turns so she could feel the Honda slipping and sliding and we practiced what to do to in a slide to stay safe. She was a natural at handling the Honda!

Your granddaughter is a very lucky young lady to have a granddad so concerned about her welfare that he took the time and effort to teach her how to drive and control the car in critical conditions. If even half the new drivers had someone like you there would a vastly reduced number of these kids in hospitals and worse when bad weather threw something at them they were never prepared to face. One suggestion. . . Now take her on a dry remote road and let her again experience a full anti skid panic stop. On dry surfaces at road speeds the anti skid system is liable to be considerably more noisy and more violent.

Regardless, you are an individual many should emulate.

PS: when you wash it, be sure to pressure wash the underside of the hood and the engine compartment. Salt buildup in those areas can destroy hoods, panels and electronics a year or so after exposure.

Yup, I agree, you're a good grandfather. All youngsters that age should have such training. I've found that most don't know what to do or expect when first confronted with snow and icy roads.

My Dad took each one of my brothers and sisters out driving in the snow when we were learning to drive back in the 60's. I can still remember the first time I made the rear wheel drive Mercury (woody) station wagon spin out of control swapping end for end. We were in a A&P Grocery store parking lot. Scared me to death! Dad calmly explained what went wrong and how to keep it from happening again.

I did use high pressure water to clean it. Driving at 65 MPH we went through a rain storm on the way home!

Check the air filter/s also. With all that debris hitting the front hard, it most likely got pushed through the air tube leading to the filter.
Happened to me on my Jeep Wrangler going through dusty conditions while being towed.

That brings up a good point chs. I always wash the radiator out after a trip like that. The small sized sand, ash and cinders gets packed in the radiator fins.

I got criticized off line for exposing my coach and toad to these harsh elements. I gotta say, I use my equipment to its fullest. I bought my equipment it to use and not sit in a garage somewhere while the pleasures of winter camping pass me by. Life is way too short not to have fun wherever we can.
