Anyone tow a Chevrolet Equinox

Looking for a flat tow vehicle. Anyone tow an Equino? Any issues?

We tow a 2013 Equinox. It tows well and tracks better than the Saturn Vue we used to have.

One issue is the ignition switch has to be in the ACC position when you tow or the battery may go dead and miles will accrue. The switch positions are not marked, so I put a dot of silver paint so I can line up the key in the right position.

Other than the above, emergency brake off, pull 1 fuse located on the passenger side of the center console, keep under 65 mph, and run the engine 5 minutes before you start towing in the morning and when you stop for fuel.

We tow a 2011 Equinox and the only problem we have had is it went into the "death wobble" one time at low speed. I had an alignment done and the camber adjusted to the high side of the tolerance and it has done great since.

We use an RVI Brake 2 for an auxiliary braking system and I installed their Towed Battery Charger to make sure the battery stays up. IMHO it is hard to beat the comfort, room and utility of the Equinox as a toad.

Equinox

Tow 2013 equinox

No problem, easy to,hook up and tow. Blue ox baseplate --nice and clean

Put fuse bypass switch in under dash and have no,problem with mileage or battery drain. Cruises at 65 no issue.
I checked with gm guy I know ( he is more than qualified about this transmission ) who says 65 mph flat tow with that trans is well within limits. Not to worry about few mph over if wanted.

Use new rvi brake system. Again, easy to use and I have a small portable battery I put in car to power rvi. Works well and I do not worry about any battery drain.

I am thinking of selling this equinox and getting a pick up truck to flat tow--so pm me if you are interested . Again, in any case, the equinox is an excellent toad as well as a very nice medium size suv.
