Anyone towing 2012 Focus?
In a conversation with Ford Customer Service today, they tell me the 2012 Focus with the 6 speed auto tranny is indeed flat towable. Turn on the ignition, place tranny in neutral, turn off ignition and it is ready to tow with a speed limit of 70 mph.
Is anyone towing one of these?

Curious to know if it has the infamous 6F35 tranny in it which is in the 2012 Escape which Ford pulled the flat-4 towing approval. Anyone know?

Ford has pulled all 2013 products from flat towing. Keep your '08 explorer. I picked up a 2010 because they said it was tow able with a KIT. Except Ford don't have or will never have the KIT anymore. . Made one myself.

Was at Ford dealer today to check out the Focus and read the owner's manual myself. For sure, they have a section in the manual that provides complete details on how to program it for flat towing.
The car is a great drive...handles like a much more expensive sports car and has a lot of features for the money. There is also a $2,000 rebate on them now. However, rear seat room is really tight and there is limited cargo space for my DW when she accumulates 'stuff' on trips.
We have eliminated the Focus from the list as a toad. Will be taking a long look at the 2012 CR-V.

Having had only one non-Honda ('97 Jeep GC) since 1988 we'll be looking at the CR-V when/if our present '05 Odyssey and '08 Civic need replacing. I tow the Ody on a dolly BTW. I tried it four down but didn't like the dead battery each day, body damage and alignment being knocked out. I could run a charge line but would still have the other problems.

I bought the 2012 specifically to be my toad. I have yet to even get the hitch yet, but next year I will. It ride/drives like a bigger car. We went to the keys for 2 weeks in January, plenty of room for everything. If you need more room, that is what the MH is for!

AK, when you make a statement saying all fords are not flat towable, please provide info where this official info can be found. Unless this is just common knowledge, a reference would lend you credibility. As it stands, you are wrong.
