Anyone towing a 2 door jeep wrangler X with a sprinter 3.0L V6.

I'm looking at a new 2016 BT Cruiser 5230 (24'). It has a Ford 5.4 V8. We always flat tow a Jeep Wrangler. I have always had Ford V10s. Will this V8 tow the Wrangler ok or will it work too hard and struggle on hills?

I would think it would work hard just to pull the Cruiser itself. Triton V8s are not known for stamina in towing unless geared to pull, which will kill highway mileage. If it has a 4:30 or lower gear, probably will pull ok, but don't try any steep hills with less than a week to get up it...
I had several of the 2 and 3-valve motors in pickups and tried towing travel trailers--not a good deal in my mind.

Ask the dealer. ... or ask any dealer. They have access to the tow capacity ratings on all their products.

We pull a 2 door Wrangler Rubicon (weighed at about 4350 lbs), and it does fine, although "you know it's there", mainly because it affects our fuel mileage by at least 2-3 MPG. Got about 11 - 12 MPG on two recent trips of 1500 miles.

just looked at specs on Thor Siesta MB Sprinter and they show a 5,000 tow capacity, so you can probably tow wrangler 2 door. if you do, you might want to have it empty of gear and only have a 1/4 tank of gas. Dave

Check on total weight too. Weight Winnebago View towing Cherokee Trailhawk. The axle capacities will use up some of gross with towing. Cherokee weighs 4038

Though I have a Class A gas Rv right now I can tell you several Wranglers are being towed by Sprinters.
I witnessed these a few times as we were on a 8400 miles USA tour last year. The Sprinters passed my just fine as I was towing my jeep.

Varying tow capacities on different makes of "B+" rigs on Sprinter chassis. Views/Navions IIRC list a 5000# tow rating. Our Prism on same chassis has 3500# hitch rating. What doesn't change is Gross combined vehicle weight - all Sprinter chassis based units are 15,250# for coach, load, and toad. GVWR for Sprinter chassis is 11030#. Need to know actual weights of coach before deciding on toad. ST

Jeeps are really cool & the most popular towed. From what I've read, most of the Sprinters can tow 3500-4200 LBS, that's tight for a Jeep. But I just read that the 2018s are going to be considerably lighter. We are looking at down-sizing from a class A and Navion 24G & Isata 3 FW are our finalists, at least for now!

We would love to tow a Jeep, but our 2014 is a little heavy.

We have a 2011 LTV Unity and have towed a 1999 Jeep TJ for 40000 Km the past number of years. I did add a power chip to the engine to boost HP to about 200, which to be honest didn't make a lot of difference, as I did run without the chip as well for comparison purposes. The chip did however increase fuel economy and I'm happy to say that I have averaged about 17.3 MPG pulling that Jeep! Going down the road without the Jeep I get close to 23 MPG!!. The other neat thing I added was a Bluetooth ODBII port reader and I downloaded an APP called Torque Pro, and it syncs seamlessly with the reader and any data that the ECU is kicking out I can now read on the APP. Things like Exhaust temp, oil temp, transmission temp MPG, distance to empty, literally at least 60 different pieces of data. This was very important as I was pulling the JEEP in places like Death Valley so I wanted to know if I was approaching any engine/transmission limits.

Bottom line is that the Sprinter/Mercedes Diesel package is awesome!
