I've thought about the Chevy Colorado too. But after weighing the $35-40k price, plus another $3-4k for baseplate and brake system installed, I've decided to take a pass on it.
I just can't beat the utter simplicity of towing my 03 Chevy tracker 2wd m/t. Tranny in neutral and key in accessory mode. And 1,500# lighter.
Plus, paying the spend happy governor here in Washington State $4k in sales tax makes me feel sick. Especially so when not necessary.

I used the Blue Ox baseplate on both the Edge and the Canyon. On the Canyon, it was very easy to install. The Edge a tad more labor intensive bit not bad. I like the Blue Ox on both vehicles because the height of the attachment points is at grill level and not that noticeable.

2019 Canyon Denali 4x4. Blue Ox base, Roadmaster automatic battery disconnect, and Brake Buddy 2 system. Did install myself and motor home is more stable with it towing behind. I also typed up a cheat sheet to switch to neutral and back.

I have my cheat sheet as well for connecting and disconnecting. Don't do it often enough to be without it especially with my foggy memory these days.

I also retyped the towing instructions and used a smaller font so it fits in that useless flip down compartment sunglasses compartment in the ceiling along with my insurance info and registration. I did, however, add a line to UNLOCK DOORS prior to killing the power.

Just finished hook up of my 2020 Chevy Colorado 4X4

Hi all Just finished the hook up of my 2020 Chevy Colorado 4X4 and took it out for a test drive and tows great actually better than my 2013 Ford Focus I had. It definitely does take some thinking to get transfer case into neutral. I like everyone's idea of having a cheat sheet to do the process to get Chevy ready to tow. I'd love to see some of them shared here. My hook up consists of a Blue Ox Tow Bar 10,000#, CURT 70107 Custom Tow Bar Base Plate Fits 15-20 Canyon Colorado, Curt 58910 RV to Towed Vehicle Wiring Harness works great for just plugging into the motorhomes 4 pin connector to run brake lights, running lights and turn signals, using a Battery Disconnect Knife Blade Shut/Cut Off Switch Top Post Heavy Duty Terminal, along with a RVI BRAKE 3 TOW BRAKING SYSTEM with a separate FEMALE 12VOLT DC CIGARETTE LIGHTER PLUG SOCKET ADAPTER ADD A 12V BATTERY OUTLET to run the brake system wit a 20 amp inline fuse holder to protect it, So just under $2000 for all the above. So just have to figure in my labor oh thats free cause i want to be safe LOL

I just copied the page from the owners manual, trimmed it and keep it above the visor. I also use
3 slap sticks that go around the steering wheel as a final check.
1 says “ parking brake off”
1 says “ In Park”
1 says “ Battery disconnect”
