Yep, the internet is never wrong.
First, I'd trust what the mfr manual states
Second, I'd trust the people here who have at least a decade of towing experience under their belt (of which I am one) & actually tow/have towed a Honda CRV (me).

You can flat tow a Honda CR-V safely at speeds up to 65 mph. With all four wheels on the ground, you'll avoid damage to the 4WD system. And, of course, you'll want to use a quality tow bar.Jul 28, 2021

I wish you had posted a link to your quote. I looked for it and I think maybe it came from RVGeeks, com. If so, re-read the entire article. In the artical it states:

The pre-2015 Honda CR-V is approved by Honda for flat towing as long as you follow the proper procedure as laid out by Honda. Following are the steps Honda specifies to prepare to tow an automatic transmission CR-V.

The bolding is mine.
Just be careful. There is a lot of misinformation on the internet in general and sometimes even in the iRV2 forum!

Yes, you're not citing a source. Who to believe? ...bottom line, why not the manufacturer of the vehicle?
Even if it is RVGeeks as Bigd9 has provided, that article clearly states that only pre-2015 CR-Vs can be flat towed.
This forum is one of the most prominent RV forums on the internet. If somebody has flat-towed any type of vehicle, it will have undoubtedly been posted on this forum.
If you do a search on this forum, you'll find no posts of anybody flat-towing a 2022 CR-V ...or any after model year 2014 for that matter.
But as others have said, believe the manufacturer of the vehicle --HONDA-- as if you go out and buy one thinking that it can be flat towed because one random lone voice on the internet said so, and consequently tear the drive train to pieces after attempting to tow it behind your motorhome, Honda will not help you with any repairs under warranty.
Forget it. Move on and find another vehicle to flat tow.

Not all Cherokees are flat towable either. And, there is a very specific procedure to follow for the ones that are flat towable. Could be that’s why the OP’s was in the shop several times and needed a “new” transmission.

Reading is fundamental and the RV Geeks are not experts in what all can be towed.

Good luck.

According to the local Hondas DEALER, NO 2022 Honda models are flat towable.
I have also flat towed my Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk many thousands of miles using the FACTORY process for placing the transmission in neutral, the transmission simply took a crap!
