Anyone towing a van of any kind?

Is any one using a van for a toad? What kind? What did you have to do to make it towing? How has it worked out for you? Ive got a lot of toys. Two electric bikes and a canoe and a kayak

Making a van towable is the same as making any car towable. You'll need to bet a base plate, a tow bar, wire it for lights and make sure it can be towed by reading the owners manual. Since most vans have an automatic transmission it's important to make sure it can be towed but, if the manual says that it can't be towed then the other alternative is to have a REMCO drive line disconnect installed. The drive shaft is cut near the rear differential and a device is welded to the drive shaft that disengages the drive shaft from spinning and causing damage to the automatic transmission.
They work great, are a bit pricey but worth the investment if you're dead set on hauling a van.
I installed one on a 2003 F250 diesel that I hauled back in 2003. The disengagement of the drive shaft is via a cable inside the vehicle. It takes all of about 2 seconds to engage or disengage and the REMCO will only allow the driveshaft to engage 180 degrees each direction which keeps the U-joints phased properly. As GEICO used to say, "it's so easy a caveman can do it. "

The sole function of that trailer is to haul my off road sand car out to Glamis (Imperial Sand Dunes Recreation Area)

Towed a '95 Ody on a dolly, then an '05 Ody both 4 down and on a dolly. Friends are towing a '10 Ody 4 down. No problems for either of us.
