Anyone's toad a Classic? Any pics?
I'm sure it's been done before, but I'm curious what's on the back end?
I met a guy in Tennessee that towed a 67 Mustang, not a show car but very cool.
I've got a 6 cylinder 63 Belair I was thinking of draggin around behind the Discovery. It's not a super desireable model, so it's not like I'm towing a show car or anything. It's a cool 4 door grocery getter, and spacious too for the family.
Anyone out there with a classic car toad?

I tow a '77 Jeep CJ7 Renegade. It's a V8 w/ stick and a wonderful patina...
Is 35yrs old classic enough? It does have antique tags

I would never tow a classic as a dinghy. They get chipped up to badly from the road debris.

Pondering.... Need to do research. We have a 1978 AMC Pacer station wagon. Manual transmission. Thinking of taking it with us now and then when we might need it.
Anyone have any opinions to share?

I wouldn't call it a classic but it's certinally older.
A 1997 Suzuki Sidekick. A really great toad.

I think abouttowing my68 camaro....
then i wake up.
i tow a 2000 wrangler tj. no one notices if it get any patina, it has a lot, much before i bought it.
i think about buying an open trailer so I can take the jeep and my bike, and then I wonder where the heck I will store it at a campground...
i think about buying a real bikelift that will let me bring both.....
then i remember that a good bikelift costs as much as my bike, a '74 cb750.....
as for your old "cheby", if you dont mind some chips and rod rash, why not. classic cars are not museum pieces, build a custom garage and rub em with a diaper once a month...lol.
If there was a reasonable way to tow my camaro, i would keep it. as it is, the jeep stays, the camaro is for sale.
imho, tow your cheby.
use a motorhome mounted towbar, even if you have to fab up the brackets.

I have a 69 big block Camaro, and you won't catch me towing it anywhere behind a motorhome.
The Bel Air is just nice enough for a driver, but not that nice that I'd freak about a couple rock chips. Although I may be over the length limit with that boat.
And how cool would it look behind it?

Thoughts on a Fun Winter Driver
Great and Timely Thread:
The diaper comment made me laugh - You are so right, it's a car not furniture.
I would really like to bring my '60 Corvette when I go away this Winter. Site seeing with a convertible is incomparable. You get to see so much more than being inside a car. The visual, sound and smells are so much more acute. Like being on a motorcycle minus the helmet. If you get caught in the rain pop the top up.
My concern is not so much the chips as it is the folks who are attracted to the car. 99% are respectful and wonderful to speak to then there are the jealous hateful who think you are a wealthy SOB and damage the car.
The constant worry can take the fun out of making your hot rod your daily Winter driver but I'm considering it. So big deal the kids inherit a magnificent car that I restored with some stone chips...but I had fun.

60Vette, most morons with the have-not complex do idiotic things. I always thought they'd go after someone with a brand new car as opposed to a classic.
I guess you can't fix some people.
Do you have a picture of your car?
Here's the one I'm thinking of towing.
I'm in process of fixing it up cosmetically now.
