Anything new on the death wobble front?

Just curious if anyone has any new experiences?

Nothing new in decades. First saw it personally in sprint cars (racing) in the 60's. Likely had been happening long before my youth. Never personally had it in lifted TJ, or Wk2 {as a towed, or as a driven). It happens based on certain known factors, and there are somewhat common preventative measures.

But, if you want to classify specific preventative measures, like the DCA add on for certain years and modelsz that is OK with me.

The fix for most Death Wobbles is: get a good base Plate setup that has the extra cross bar at the front. This creates the required triangle.
Next measure the height to a fixed point on the Toad prior hooking up to the MH. Then remeasure that height after hooking up to the MH, but wait, if yo have a DP make sure the height of the DP is at travel height, not parked height. Air bags my friend, air bags. Now what you are looking for is to see if the front of the Toad is being lifted, suspension unloaded. Hooked up height is higher than unhooked height. This is bad.
Oh Ive got more things to check. I'll be back shortly with those things.

Here are the other things that need to be checked and fixed.
Extend the tow bars as if to connect them to the Toad. now move them up/down and side to side, do yo feel any clunking or hear and banging when yo do this? If so you need to fix this. One way is to add a Quiet Hitch to the Tow Bar. This movement or rattling you get will be transmitted to the Toad in the form a harmonic movement and contribute to rapid movement side to side of the Toad (Death Wobble). This harmonic can only be stopped by coming to a complete stop (Death Wobble). This all starts at the rear axel of the MH and works its way to the Toad and the Toad attempts to correct this but cannot. this is normally seen in Toads with an EPS (Electronic Power Steering) Mainly because you shut down power to it when you shut the Toad off.
Doing the things that I have said will normally keep you out of trouble unless your Toad has a screwed up front end.
I haven't had any issues due to making sure I have taken care all of these things.
Good luck and may the Wobble Not be with you.
