I am sure that happens. I went with a used dolly, we weren’t sure how long we would keep our current car, didn’t want to purchase base plate etc. on an older car. Paid $2500.00 for 2 year old Landgrebe with surge brakes, rock guard and caster steer. I did upgrade tires to 8 ply Maxxis tires.
I estimated that was about half what a new flat tow setup would cost.
Flat tow looks quick and convenient might try it some day.
