Right, just be careful when installing the disconnect, you'll use a wrench for that. What I have is very similar to what's in post 3. But mine operates from a momentary switch in the grille.

Per your request. We tow a 3.5L 2017 Ford Edge SEL with our ‘17 Canyon Star. We drove the Edge directly from the Ford dealership to Golden Gait Trailer, Concord, NC for the total install. To date it tows great, no issues, everything works as designed. Safe travels.
This looks very nice and clean. Can anyone tell me what gauge wire is used and how you spliced an extension onto the existing cable?

Did they install the switch on the positive or negative lead? Either way how did they take the "post type" connect on the existing cable and hook it to the switch? A few more pics of these areas would be great.
I replaced the blade switch installed on the positive battery terminal with this rotary switch inline on the negative battery terminal.
I debated about attaching it to the top of the air cleaner box but since it needs to be removed periodically I went with on top of the fuse box cover. I made sure I sealed both around the side but also the underside with silicone sealant to keep water out of the fuse box.
I used a 24in switch to starter cable to go from the negative post on the battery to the switch and wound up using a 19in to go from switch and connect to the ground cable (you really only need a 12 in one but they didn't have that).
I did have to cut off the ends of 2 of the screws on the underside as you can see where the fuse box cover would close all the way.
