Yes, what Polyian said. My wife has had both lumbar and cervical fusions. She can't just sit in anything and be comfortable. We recently bought a newer Ford Explorer and relegated the previous car, a 2007 Ford Edge AWD to the bullpen. It was still in good shape, but has just rolled over 200K. We just bought our first MH and were researching good candidates to be a toad and discovered that our Edge AWD was towable 4-down. Since she loved it we just decided to have it set up to tow. It's in the shop right now getting the towing stuff installed (Base plate, wiring, & brake controller).

We tow a 2008 Jeep JK Sahara and I could not ask for an easier vehicle to deal with and tow.
HighDesert is correct. I pulled the 2018 Crosstrek Owners manual. On page 9-16, it indicates that the Crosstrek is flat towable but then there's a note to the right of that which says that if you've got a CVT, keep the speed and towing distance low. Translation: Manuals only.

I suppose you could custom order a manual Crosstrek if you were really hooked on it, but I'd just as soon buy a Jeep.

We have a 2007 AWD Edge also. Almost 160k miles on it. Darn thing refuses to die. Plan to give it to my sister-in-law when we're done with it and ready to go FT.

I needed something fun to drive when I wasn't towing. Last week I bought an SHO. Have'nt towed it yet, but will next Spring. In the meantime, I need to get all the tow stuff installed on it. A fairly easy DIY which only requires removing the front bumper and grill.

Back to the SHO...she's a beast and so fun to drive. Coming in under 4200 lbs, I do not require brakes on it to tow in BC.
