Purchased a used RV that came with the Blue Ox 7420 tow bar. Owner claims it was relatively new but the letters on one of the arms is gone (no big deal) and the slide arms seem to have a lot of slop in them side to side/up and down. Is this normal or is the tow bar worn out?

I'd have it checked out by authorized Blue Ox service facility. Sounds like it's been around the block a lot more than the owner wants to admit!

I have an older Blue Ox tow bar with the same capacity as yours. I've rebuilt it myself. When the arms are fully extended and locked, there is no slop either way. When partially extended, I can move them somewhat.

Probably going with a new one. Haven't used this one yet, was in the process of changing out the ends to work with my Demco baseplate when I noticed the slop.
