Hello everyone. New to the site and new to flat towing! I have a few questions that I am hoping someone can help with. I picked up a Blue Ox Aladdin tow bar that I have since come to find out was manufactured in 2002 (it looks brand new!) It came with an Auto Stop brake.
Question 1. I took apart the auto stop to clean it and ran into something interesting but more on that later.... the instructions on adjusting the amount of braking leave a little to be desired. The attached picture shows a diagram talking about 1/4" 1/2" and 3/4" and weight of your vehicle. My 2018 Equinox is about 3700lbs so I am looking at the 3/4" mark. Problem is nothing is marked on the auto stop or the instructions. Has anyone adjusted the Auto stop? Is the 3/4" mark closer to the RV or the Toad?
Question 2. When I called Blue Ox they told me they recommend replacing tow bars every 10 years. What are your thoughts on that? The thing looks brand new, all welds look perfect.
Question 3. Is anyone using an auto stop or ready brake type of brake on the newer Equinox?
