Question Blue Ox Aventa LX loose collar at the shank. Normal wear or issue?

Hi all,

We've been towing our Jeep Wrangler Unlimited for a year now using the Blue Ox Aventa LX (I bought it used and previous owner had low miles and no issues). We've had zero issues with it so far. I was inspecting everything today and noticed that the collar at the shank has a little play in it. In spite of this it still feels solid. I've read on other forums that over time the Blue Ox tow bars get a little loose and have some normal wear. Would this qualify as normal wear or do we have an issue here?

That is not normal.

There is a nut inside the tube that needs to be tightened.

I can see that inside the tube. It doesn’t look like a standard nut. Any idea what type of socket I would need for the job?

Thanks
