Blue OX Aventa vs Avail tow bars

I am looking at upgrading to one of these 10K pound tow bars. The price difference is about 200.00, does anyone have any thoughts on the difference between the two. Thanks.

I use the Aventa and have no issues with it. I believe one of the major differences between the two is the distance between the MH and toad allowing for a shorter turning angle. Also supposedly, it is easier to connect and disconnect.
After my first encounter trying to disconnect with the toad at an angle, I leaned to have DW turn the steering wheel back and forth while I removed the pins. No more issues from that day on. For me, I would hesitate to spend the extra money.

I've had the Aventa with no bad issues at all. Yes, occasionally we had to turn the wheels or slightly move the car back/forward to get them to unlock but not a big deal.

HOWEVER...

I changed it for the Avail because I have a bicycle carrier on the back of my coach and needed the extra length (including the OPTIONAL longer shank) to make sure I could do a full locked turn of the coach without hitting the car with the carrier. I'm pretty happy with it as a whole and I do find it is flawless in unlocking.

I also find the Avail easier to move around and it folds and it stores a bit easier.

All that being said, I like the Avail better but I wouldn't pass over the Aventa if price is a factor.

Blue OX Aventa vs Avail tow bars

I have the Aventa. No problems. Solid piece of equipment.

Blue Ox attends many RV events and provide tune up / check up service. A good way to keep your towbar in good working condition and ensure safety as it ages. Blue Ox telephone tech support is also very good My experience.

The turning the front wheels one way or the other usually works if there is tension on the pins. And if not, just use a bungee cord to hold down the lever and move the toad forward s couple inches.

RVUpgrades.com offers new Avail at $753.01 with free shipping. I wasn't able to find it cheaper anywhere. They are, currently, also offering trade in credit for selected used tow bars. Not sure how you can beat this one.

Interesting the biggest feature I like about the Aventa LX is the knuckle. Four years, 30K+ miles, and one rebuild at a the iRV2 Severville rally a few years back with no problems.

I originally purchased this used here from the iRV2 classifieds (like new) I had it rebuilt at the factory for about $30. by Blue Ox just to be sure of what I was starting with.

BO says they are still making the Aventa and there is nothing wrong with the design, only the normal wear problems. My Aventa has performed flawless over the years and this is the first time I have heard of a problem?
