Blue Ox breaking system power supply..& battery disconnect?

Help me out here...........I have been towing a jeep wrangler behind my DP without a breaking system but am now adding a Blue Ox Patriot as much for compliance as much as safety..........however my Jeep manual says disconnect battery when towing and I do that...........now the Patriot relies on a simple 12 volt plug in for power............how do I do both OR does anyone have experience towing the Wrangler (2010 sport) without disconnecting battery?

You could use a separate 12VDC battery or power pack to power your braking system.

We had ours installed by the dealer and they got 12V from the connection to the RV. They connected the 12V to a cigarette lighter type receptacle that they installed near the steering wheel.
