Blue Ox D-Rings

We are taking our Wrangler TJ on a rally, and need recovery points....
Wondering if anyone is aware of a D-ring that will fit a BlueOx base plate?

Even if there were or you welded some up I would not trust them UNLESS your base-plate is attached to the FRAME of the Jeep securely and you can TRUST it.

That is where all recovery rings are attached. Look at the Hummer.

The base plate is attached to the frame, so that's not an issue, it is that the BlueOx double tabs are 1 1/2" Outside, and the only ones I can find that list that measurement are for 1 1/4" Clovis tabs.

Measure the locking pin for the Blue Ox tow bar I think it is 1/2 inch but not sure.

Get a clevis with the same size pin,, That is the best you can do.

WARNING however: Recovery towing (pulling it out of a mud hole) is much more stressful than pulling it down the pavement..

I have used the blue ox base plate as a tow point but never out of a mud hole. Only onto a flat bed tow truck.

Buy A set of Blue-Ox pins, cut off the twin tabs on the front and either weld a set of pulling rings on the front of each tab or drill a hole through the pin then use a set of clevis pins will fit the hole.

However by drilling that weaken the sold piece of steel so I would choose to weld a fixture on the front that will be for pulling.
