Mich,

Never heard back from Blue Ox on the results of their examination of the crack.

Can you tell me what you did after this happened? Did you contact BlueOx? I just had the exact same thing happen to me, Good thing I was watching my rear, this could have ended badly........thanks

Use silicone spray on every joint several times every trip. Cheap and easy to do.

I liked the looks of the Demco tow bars when I first started looking but my local RV maintenance facility only sold Road Master and Blue OX so Blue Ox it was, that was in 2014 so it has been 6 years. Mine stays inside when I am not on the road and since not yet retired is only outside for a few weeks a year. Still looks brand new and is serviced every year. That said I still like the looks of the Demco and doing some research see that E-Trailer is making tow bars now and they look exactly like the Demco brand, in that I mean identical, other than a slightly higher weight rating. Has anyone else seen this?

Other people have noted exactly the same thing. Nothing definitive, though.

Most likely etrailer has simply contracted with Demco.

Curious why only Blue Ox has boots.

That is a good question, the boots should keep the sliding bar cleaner, but who knows for sure.

Last year it was $125 and they will not work on any tow bar over 8 years old even if it is still new in the box. https://www.blueox.com/about-us/events/

It's a mixed bag, the Blue Ox fee includes all parts. Last year I also had Roadmaster repair a tow bar in Quartzsite. They don't charge for labor but the parts were $137.50.

The 8 year limit Blue Ox has must be from their legal department.

Thanks for the heads up, Im still looking for a tow bar, I was thinking of getting the Roadmaster with the fancy lights on it, but $1200.00 Bucks seems steep so I've been on the fence, Now Im considering the E-Trailer one, it is a Demco Tow bar, with a E-Trailer name on it, Im just wondering if it will work with the Blue-Ox Base Plate I know that Roadmaster had an adapter kit, not sure about the Demco/E_trailer one!

Just had mine done. They pay shipping both ways and you pay $150 after completion. Depends on who you talk to on the phone. They go up to 10 years

At RV show I went the Blue Ox booth and was told 5 years but I have owned mine for only 3 years. The guy at the both said someone sold you old stock or used tow bar and you take with him. I told him I bought from the Blue Ox booth in Indy and the guy turn around and walk off.

I know have a Road Master tow bar.
