Rerigging my 2016 Equinox to tow behind new, to us, MH. Need a new cable from MH to toad. I was going to buy a Blue Ox one, but on AMAZON there was another brand, that lights up in the plug, that would be helpful. But a lot if comment, reviews, said the cable was to short and could pull out. Has anyone tried that cable and how was it?? Also half the price if Blue Ox. Thanks for any input. The wired up Muffin Man.

What a coincidence. I just today returned the Hopkins cord you are talking about. It was too short. You could perhaps force it to stretch enough by tying it off to something... left to it's own I expect it would have so much tension on the coils it would pull out of one end or the other.

I used a Blue Ox cable for 5 years before the sun got to the outer jacket and it started to crack.

I just replaced it today with another Blue Ox after returning the Hopkins.

Stay with Blue Ox, in the long run your better off then buying a knock off. My blue ox plug saved my butt as I forgot to set my emergency break and the toad started to roll, it stopped it. Believe it or not it happened at the forest river international where you check in for parking just a slight sloop but it rolled backwards until the plug stopped it.

I ended up buying the BLUE OX cable, overpriced , but it works. Thanks the prewired Muffin Man.

I've got one that came with my Blue Ox plate, but never used it. If it's the same type you are looking for, I could have made you a good deal. I'm sure it's overpriced, but FWIW it looks like it's very well made. I just hang on to it think that one day the perfect need will arise, and I'll be able to use it.
