Brake Buddy

I am not sure if if my Brake Buddy is working like it should, it will apply the brakes if the brake away on the front of the car is pulled out...but not sure if it is applying the brakes during a stop...today I had to make a sudden stop & I don't think the Brake Buddy was working...is there any way to test if it is working as it should?

Our brake buddy has a wireless remote that shows when it activates the brakes.

"Our brake buddy has a wireless remote that shows when it activates the brakes." agree

+ read the manual or call Brake Buddy (very helpful) .... there are usage settings on the BB.

Brake Buddy Issues

I have been RVing for almost twenty years and have used a Brake Buddy in our 2012 Honda CRV. On a recent trip from our home in Southern Oregon to Central California the Brake Buddy engaged the brakes while we were towing. This resulted in all four rotors, pads and calipers being destroyed and one actually had started burning. The braking device was properly fitted in front of the driver’s seat like I always do. We towed the car back home and the shop determined that the car braking system had been working properly and the front rotors had been replaced prior to the road trip. The technician is certain that the only way the car brakes could have activated is from the Brake Buddy engaging while we were driving the RV and towing the car. I submitted a claim for the $2,400 in damages to Hopkins Manufacturing but was denied. I sent my towing equipment back to them for inspection and they claim there is nothing wrong with it. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks.
