I recently purchased a used brake buddy. I have a Jeep Wrangler and today I put it in the Jeep. I had the driver seat all the way back and then connected the clevis to the brake pedal. I made sure the unit was sitting with the handle braced on the seat front. When the unit was at the desired pressure and the compressor shut off I pressed the test button activating the solinoid. when, after a few seconds, the solinoid started to retract it was pulled foreward towards the brake pedal. I am wondering how the brake buddy should be kept tight to the seat? If after activating under normal conditions there would be a gap between the brake buddy and the front seat and I am sure thats not correct. Is the solinoid supposed to retract slowly and not drag the unit closer to the brake pedal?

Ours would move if it was put on the rubber mats that we kept on the floor. Fellow members here told me to take the mat out & have the Brake Buddy sit on the carpeted floor. No more scooting.

NLOVINIT,
Thanks for the reply. I do have a rubber mat that I will remove. I Have discovered though that my problem was one of not fully reading the instructions on the next page of the manual that I downloaded. It says fully retract the solinoid rod after the clevis is attached. THEN move the seat foreward untill it contacts the height adjusted Brake Buddy handle. I think I have had what is called a Senior Moment.....again

We use two bungy cords to hold the Brake next to the seat. They are the covered kind, not the black cords. We secure one near the top of the Brake and one beneath the rod. This keeps everything in place regardless of how hard we hit the brakes. Peace!
