I have a Holiday Rambler Imerial diesel pusher, that I am trying to get a brake controller attached to, that will only come on when I press the service brake. This unit is configured, so that the brake lights come on when the jake brake comes on as well as when the ervice brake is applied. The controller is currently connected so that it comes on whenever the brake lights come on.

Anyone out there have any experience with a similar connection issue?

You probably need to connect the brake controller trigger nearer the brake light switch, between the brake switch and wherever the exhaust brake circuit joins the brake light wiring. And you might need a diode downstream from it to prevent backfeed into the controller circuit when the EB comes on.

I gather you have attached the controller to the feed line for the trailer brake lights (the plug that was probably standard on your coach form the factory) and that comes on with the EB?

Have you asked Monaco/HR Customer Service about a good place to make this connection? They may already know the answer.

New2TheRoad, I have a Dutch Star and my controller comes on when either the engine brake or the service brake are engaged. Accordingly, the brake lights on MH and trailer come on as the brakesare activated. I want full brake application regardless of which braking mechanism is being uased, Ken...
