We have a 2010 GMC Acadia - twin to your Enclave. Tows four down with no problem. We have the Blue Ox tow bar/base plate, and use the SMI Air Force One braking system. Excellent combination.

I also installed the under hood switch to remove the 50A battery fuse from the circuit when towing. Saves having to manually remove the fuse and replace it. Pricey but worth it in the long run. You'll find it at rv-partsplus.com .

Follow the owners manual and idle the engine for 5 minutes before towing, and for 5 minutes at every fuel stop. We do that about every 200 miles just to be safe, as well as for 5 minutes when we call it a day. Keeps the transmission lubricated.

Hope that helps!

Are you towing the enclave four down? We have a 2011. Thanks!

To say I'm towing may be a stretch . It is set up to tow as of Wednesday and I have practiced hooking it up. I went and found the long fuse so they are easy to pull and figured out that if you pull them 50 amp then ecm the check engine light doest come on. It only stayed on for a couple minutes anyway so no big deal. I hope to get out and do some camping someplace soon here and get a little time pulling the toad. We bought the Enclave 2 weeks ago and its a great car. can't say enough about how much I like it.We got the AWD so it has to be 4 down or four up, can't use a dolly. Good luck with yours.

Towed my 2010 Enclave 4000 miles. Great vehicle. No problems. Have Blue Ox tow bar, Air Force One brakes. Just bought relay from PPL Motorhome Parts to auto disconnect main fuse when you plug in the light cord.

One thing I learned last night is to put the car in park and turn off the ignition before replacing the plug. I know most people would already know this and I did also but the spark from the ECM fuse reminded me that it would be very easy to at the least blow the fuse and at worst burn up something very expensive! Sometimes I just don't think about what I'm messing with.
